Discussion Network Made Easy

Sometimes there is a high volume of emails in the Discussion Network. There are three ways to easily manage it.

>>>> If at any point you feel that the discussion is not adding new value, just contact the moderators!

1. EMAILS GO TO YOUR INBOX

You need to do nothing special: The emails from the Network arrive directly at your inbox. You can read them as they arrive and respond in real time.  This is the most common and easiest way to read and participate in the Discussion Network. Once you are approved for the Discussion Network, you will be receiving the emails this way.

2. CREATE A FOLDER TO DIRECT YOUR DISCUSSION NETWORK MAIL

This is a good method for members who want to be able to easily read the emails, but not overcrowd their inbox. SImply create a new folder on your email software to direct your Discussion Network emails. The particulars of how to do this depend on your operating system and email program, but here are the generic two steps that you need to take:

  • STEP 1: CREATE A NEW FOLDER
Windows: Go to the File Menu:  File > Folder > New and create a folder called, for example, eQualityGiving

Mac: Go to the Mailbox Menu: Mailbox > New Mailbox and create a folder called eQualityGiving

Help: If you have a problem, check "create a folder" in your email program help system.
  • STEP 2: REDIRECT EMAILS TO NEW FOLDER
Windows: Go to Tools > Message Rules > Mail. Create a rule: when FROM is members@network.equalitygiving.org  then MOVE the message to the eQualityGiving folder. [Note: if you use Outlook, you may need to use this FROM address: members-bounces@network.equalitygiving.org]

Mac: Go to Mail > Preferences > Rules. Create a rule: when FROM is members@network.equalitygiving.org  then MOVE the message to the eQualityGiving folder.

Help: If you have a problem, check "rules" in your email program help system.

If you have any problems, feel free to contact us.

3. RECEIVE A DAILY DIGEST

This method is not recommended because you lose the opportunity to respond in real time and it can be cumbersome to read emails this way. If you still want to switch to daily digest, just contact us.
